Like many manual transmission-equipped BMWs, your factory shifter leaves much to be desired. Plagued by long shifter throws, imprecision, and "rubbery" gear selection, many enthusiasts have critiqued the factory G8X shifter since its release. While many short throw shifter kits claim to solve this issue, they often lack the adjustability and modularity needed to maximize the feeling of a carrier-mounted shifter. Offering optimal adjustment for both shifter throw length and height, this kit allows you to tailor your shifter to your driving style. Additionally, Turner's kit features selectable options for retaining your factory shift knob or adding a rally-style shift lever for enhanced leverage and reduced shift times. 

At its core, the purpose of a short throw shifter is to reduce the distance between gears, allowing for quicker, more direct gear changes. To effectively reduce throw distance, the fulcrum point of the shifter needs to be changed. Turner's exclusive design features a threaded shift lever, allowing up to 10mm of fulcrum point adjustment and a 44% reduction in overall shifter throw length. Adjustments can be made easily from inside the cabin, allowing you to dial in the shifter throw without removing the lever or carrier entirely. 

The lower shifter assembly is machined from 4140 Chromoly steel for maximum durability and is treated with a Melonite coating for surface property enhancement. Turner's enhanced shifter-bearing cup design features an encapsulated bearing, making it easy to install inside the vehicle and preventing premature wear. 6061-T6 aluminum was chosen for bearing cup construction, and type II anodization was used to create a brilliant, lasting appearance. Finally, solid lubricant-filled Nylatron® material is used for both the lower shift lever and bearing cup, further preventing wear and improving overall shifter operation.

• Lower Shifter Assembly CNC machined from 4140 chromoly steel and melonite coated, with 304 stainless steel shifter ball and Nylatron® NSM bushings.
• The shift lever and bearing cup assembly are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and type II anodized for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
• The bearing cup assembly and associated bushings are machined with precision tolerances to ensure minimal play in gear.
• Shift levers offer 10mm of independent height adjustability
• Up to 44% reduction in shift throw from factory shifter
• The standard shift lever is compatible with OEM BMW shift knobs.
• Optional "Rally Lever" increases leverage and brings the shifter closer to the steering wheel for quicker shifts.
